HELIDUR-SPIRAL
LARGE BORE HELIDUR SPIRAL SEWER PIPES
MADE OF uPVC or HDPE

MATERIAL
The HELIDUR-SPIRAL pipes are manufactured by extrusion and continuous wounding of specially designed profiles upon a mandrel. The diameter can be varied from 600 mm up to 1500 mm and more.
The profile wall construction produces superior ring stiffness properties and mechanical resistance to external loading. The moment of inertia can be magnified significantly in comparison to solid wall pipes.
This means for practical use that:
with the same input of material volume the stiffness of the pipe can be increased, and
for the same output of stiffness a resistance to external loading the material input can be degreased to 40% of the comparable solid - wall pipe construction
Material savings are a major advantage of the light weight HELIDUR SPIRAL pipes which in combination with their smooth internal and external surface facilitate handling, transport and installation. Costs for transportation can be reduced, installation equipment may be lighter and job site handling during installation is easier and more effective.

TECHNICAL FEATURES
Chemical and Corrosion Resistance.
Can be used in temperature range about -10īC up to 60īC
A conventional integral socket with a groove can be formed at the PVC HELIDUR SPIRAL pipe and a chamfer at the spigot end to attain joining in the same way as in solid wall PVC pipes. Water tightness is ensured by the incorporated sealing ring seated against the groove. A special coupling can also be used for the connection of HELIDUR SPIRAL pipes. This coupling consists of a stainless steel casing with stainless steel bolts and a high quality synthetic rubber sealing sleeve. For HELIDUR SPIRAL pipes made of HDPE the butt fusion welding method can also be used. Butt fusion is probably the simplest method of joining pipe. It consists of heating adjoining pipe ends until the polymer softens and pressing the softened ends together. This allows the polymer to flow together resulting in a continuous pipe without a joint. The join strength is completed when the softened portion cools.

APPLICATIONS
As central collectors for the sewage networks of a town or an industrial area.
As storm drain pipelines.
As pipelines for the conveyance, far into the sea, of wastes in the above mentioned cases and also in big hotels.
As gravity flow pipelines for the irrigation of large areas.
HELIDUR SPIRAL made of HDPE can also used for the relining of a defective old pipeline.
